THE BEST CHICKEN MARINADE RECIPE

                            THE BEST CHICKEN MARINADE RECIPE EVER

Who knew chicken could taste this good? You gotta try this D-lish & easy to make chicken marinade from blogger MomOnTimeout it is not only easy to make but OMG the taste is off the chain in yummy goodness!!!

When you're trying to eat healthy or healthier there is a lot of boneless, skinless chicken involved or there is for me anyway, so after a while it can get a little bit difficult to come up with something new to give the chicken a little extra somethin', somethin' without jacking up the calories. This marinade recipe gives the chicken an awesome new flavor without adding an awesome amount of unwanted calories and fat. Check it out!
THE BEST CHICKEN MARINADE RECIPE
low calorie recipes, 21 day fix, shakeology, fitness
TO PURCHASE THE 21 DAY FIX/SHAKEOLOGY

*  6 boneless, skinless chicken breast or 3 1/2 pounds of chicken.
*  2 tsp each garlic powder and Rosemary, dried.
*  1/2 cup Balsamic vinegar (or other vinegar)

CLICK HERE
*  1/4 cup Soy sauce
*  1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
*  3/4 cup Brown sugar
*  2 tbsp Dijon or spicy brown mustard.
*  1/8 cup Lemon juice.
*  1 tsp Black Pepper.
*  2 tsp Salt.
*  1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil.

PREPARATION
🌺mix all the ingredients together(except the chicken).

 Then place the washed chicken breast into the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator. You could mix it up and let it sit overnight or make it the same day the longer it sits the better the taste.

🌺preheat an oven to 350°, remove the chicken from the marinade and place on a baking sheet or in a casserole dish, bake for 30 minutes on one side and turn the chicken and bake for 30 minutes more on the other side. You can take some of the marinade and place it over the top of the chicken to give it a crispier taste or you can take the marinade and place it in a sauce pan on low to medium heat reduce it down and make a sauce to pour on the chicken once it has completed cooking. Either way it tastes awesome! Give it a try and let me know what you think and share this post with a friend!!!

4 Possible Reasons Why You're Not Losing Weight On Your Healthy Diet

          4 Possible Reasons Why You're Not

          Losing Weight On Your Healthy Diet

Nothing. I say, nothing is more frustrating then bust your ass all week long sticking to your diet and working out like a champ then hopping on the scale on Monday morning and not losing a freakin pound one or worse gaining a pound or two. AGHHH!!!! WTH?
Shakeology, Eat better, weight loss, women's health
www.Facebook.com/Lorislosingit

 "How is that even possible I starved myself all week?" Well, that is actually the first possible reason why you're not losing weight on your healthy diet.
  #1 You are not eating enough Say what? I know, just hear me out. We all know it is calories in verses calories out, so you have to be eating at a deficit, but when we take that deficit to low our bodies think that we are trying to starve it to death, so it goes it to survival mode and starts storing fat for the long haul. Our bodies need food for fuel, so you have to eat healthy, nutritionally dense foods in the right amount in order to lose weight.

Which brings us to point number 2-Eating foods in the right combination
portion control, yummy, food combinations, weight loss
Portion Fix
Is a Meal Plan that teaches you how to
eat the right foods, in the right portions.
There are many diets that tell you to eat only carbs or to eat only proteins, but you should never exclude any food group from your diet. Why? Because you can not maintain that long term (are you really never going to eat another piece of bread for the rest of your life, really?) and when you start eating whatever it is that you cut out of your diet for all those months when you were losing weight guess what happens??? Yep, you gain the weight back( and usually you gain back more, just to let you know).

Half of your plate at each meal should be veggies/fruits the other half should have some protein,healthy fats, and carbs. Try eating your carbs with your early morning and afternoon meals, so you get the fuel you need for the day. And at nighttime and dinner time consume more protein, so you stay full through out the night and your muscles have fuel to help them heal from your killer workouts during the day.

I know you don't want to hear this one, but point #3 Are You Drinking Enough Water?
Yes, the dreaded water, the 8-10 glasses of water per day, well actually your water requirement for weight loss is half of your body weight in ounces. So, if you weigh 150 lbs then you divide that by 2=75, which means you need to drink 75 ounces of water per day  (8 ounces=1 glass). Why do you need to drink all that freaking water?
  • Water keeps you from being dehydrated, if you are dehydrated your body stores what water it has so you retain water, which makes you weigh more. Also when you are dehydrated your kidneys can't function properly, so they ask their friend the liver to help them out. The liver is suppose to be working on breaking down the fat in your body, but now it has to store the fat so it can help out the kidneys, get it?
  • Water helps to remove waste from the body. All that awesomely healthy fiber you've been eating just sits in your gut, if it doesn't have water to wash it out of your system. So, basically your pipes get clogged up and water is the "Mr. Plumper" of your digestive system. For more on how water helps with weight loss check out this article Water and Weight loss

Checkout my post on Hydration & Weight loss

Lastly and point #4 Are You Eating From the Top of Your Food List?
Most of us who are on any type of diet or healthy eating plan have a meal plan, diet exchange list, or something similar that shows us a list of what foods we can eat from each food category. Most of the list are in a hierarchy with the healthiest (lowest in calorie/highest in nutritional value) foods at the top of the list and the foods that are not as health (higher in calories/lower in nutritional value) at the bottom of the list. If you are frequently choosing foods from the bottom of the list then technically you are stay in the guidelines of your plan, but you may not be getting the nutrition your body needs and therefore you're not getting the results that you are looking for. So, try picking foods from the top of the list and limit eating foods from the lower half of the list and see if that helps.

You're probably not going to like this suggestion, but try tracking what you are eating and DRINKING for a few days, a week if you can or will you just might find you are eating a lot more calories then you thought you were or particularly DRINKING a lot more calories. It is very easy to consume a large amount of calories, and not even realize it, by drinking. How? Adding fruit juice to your water to give it flavor, mixing your healthy nutrition shakes with fruit juice, whole milk, almond milk, drinking fruit juice instead of eating your fruit options and then drinking alcohol. Alcohol is bad on 2 fronts: 1. It lowers your inhibitions so you tend to drink more 2. It is high in calories with no nutritional value.

21 REASONS TO DRINK SHAKEOLOGY DAILY FOR GORGEOUS HAIR AND SKIN

  • When I first started losing weight, and after I had lost about 50 lbs, I noticed that my once shiny and thick hair was now dull and thinning. I tried to tell myself that it was just my imagination, even though the tub was full of hair after I showered, that my hair was just as thick as it always had been. Then I went shopping with my sister one day and I was walking in front of her and she screams, "Oh my god you look like a chemo patient!" I didn't have to ask what she meant by that because I had already noticed the large amount of hair on my shirt earlier, so I knew my hair was falling out.
    Shakeology, eat better, get some, cize, 21 Day Fix, 21 Day Fix Extreme
    SHAKEOLOGY-has over 70 vitamins, nutrients, probiotics,etc.
    It is your healthiest meal of the day!
The problem was even though I was losing weight I was not getting the proper nutrition. The number one problem being, I absolutely hate vegetables so there's no way I'll ever eat enough veggies in a day. Well, no way until I discovered Shakeology and my life was changed forever. Not only did my hair return to its former glory, but my skin was clearer and softer too. Not to mention that I had more energy, I didn't feel tired all the time anymore, and it was easier to stick to my diet because I didn't have the crazy cravings like I did before I started drinking the Shakeology.

This made me wonder exactly what all the awesome ingredients in Shakeology could do for me, so here's just a few of the benefits that I found, I don't have enough time to list them all;)

Infuse Your Water with Fruity Flavor and Kick the Sodas to the Curb

    It's time to rethink what you're drinking and kick those sugar filled drinks to the curb!

 Water all the way baby, it is your life force, the fountain of youth and health. Did you know that over 60% of the human body is water? Water serves as lubricant for just about every bodily function, all the way down to your cells. Water helps to flush the toxins out of your body, it helps deliver nutrients, and it helps you feel full longer and when you're trying to lose weight that is uber important, right? Staying hydrated is especially important when you are working out hard. Check out my blog post on How to Tell if You Are Dehydrated.
shakeology, hypothyroidism, clean eating
Want to learn about clean eating then try out the 21 Day Fix. I lost 45 lbs with this program, so I am living proof that it works.

Most of us when we decide to lose weight we change from our sugar filled soft drinks and juices to diet soda, but more and more research is showing that diet soft drinks are just as bad for you as regular soft drinks just for different reasons and that the diet sodas actually cause weight gain, instead of helping you to lose weight(Diet sodas and Weight Gain).

 With all this in mind it is time to start drinking up the water and kick those sugar filled drinks to the curb. But water can be rather boring, especially to those of us who don't particularly love the taste of water. So, here are some yummy recipes to help you liven up the flavor of your water by adding flavor without adding a bunch of calories or sugar. BOTTOMS UP!

                   FRUIT AND HERB INFUSED WATER
Water, clean eating, detox, healthy eating
         Servings: 6-8 servings
Ingredients
  • fruit -- 2 cups berries, citrus, melons, pineapple...most fruits will work (see recommended amounts in directions)
  • herbs -- a sprig of mint, basil, sage, rosemary, tarragon, thyme, or lavender
  • water (tap or filtered)
  • ice
Directions
Supplies needed: 2 quart pitcher or jar with lid; muddler or wooden spoon

General formula for whatever fruit/herb combo you desire.
1. If using herbs, add a sprig of fresh herbs to jar/pitcher; press and twist with muddler or handle of wooden spoon to bruise leaves and release flavor; don't pulverize the herbs into bits.
2. Add approx. 2 cups of fruit to jar/pitcher; press and twist with muddler or handle of wooden spoon, just enough to release some of the juices
3. Fill jar/pitcher with ice cubes.
4. Add water to top of jar/pitcher.
5. Cover and refrigerate for up to 3 days.

Suggested flavor combinations:
ALL CITRUS (no herbs) --  Slice 1 orange, 1 lime, 1 lemon into rounds, then cut the rounds in half. Add to jar and proceed with muddling, add ice & water.
RASPBERRY LIME (no herbs)  -- Quarter 2 limes; with your hands, squeeze the juice into the jar, then throw in the squeezed lime quarters. Add 2 cups raspberries. Muddle, add ice & water.
PINEAPPLE MINT -- Add a sprig of mint to the jar (you can throw in the whole sprig; or, remove the leaves from the sprig, if you prefer to have the mint swimming around and distributing in the jar). Muddle the mint. Add 2 cups pineapple pieces, muddle, add ice & water.
BLACKBERRY SAGE -- Add sage sprig to jar and muddle. Add 2 cups blackberries; muddle, add ice & water.
WATERMELON ROSEMARY --  Add rosemary sprig to jar & muddle. Add 2 cups watermelon cubes; muddle, add ice and water.

The Number One Dieting Mistake That is Ruining Your Weight Loss Efforts

                        SACK THE SCALE

How many times have you gotten up in the morning feeling good, you're upbeat and happy, ready to take on the day then you go to the bathroom to do your morning routine, which includes stepping on the scale, and when you see the number on the scale isn't the number you were wanting all that happy goodness is knocked right out of you? Does this ever happen to you?
shakeology, weight loss, cize, turbofire, healthy moms
LET'S TALK

You know that you were good all week long when it comes to your dieting efforts. You made healthy choices with your foods, you stayed with in your calories, containers, points, whatever limits and didn't over indulge. You worked out everyday and you gave it your all during workouts there was nothing left in the tank when you were done-BAM YOU KILLED THOSE WORKOUTS!

Shakeology, Turbofire, healthy eating, clean eatingSo, WTH?! Now that you see that number on the scale and you know the work that you did last week, now you want to give up. Why, sacrifice eating all that delicious food while everyone else is enjoying it, if this is the results you're going to get, right? WRONG!
Many, many times it will take a while before all our hard work shows up on the scale and even when it does it might not be the number we are looking for, because losing weight and getting healthy is more than a number on a scale.  You can't let the number on the scale mess with your mind, your confidence. Don't let a number on a scale defeat you and take away your hope of having a healthy, active life of abundance.

You have to have NON-SCALE VICTORIES. Non-scale victories are other ways of judging how effective your dieting and weight loss efforts are and really we aren't dieting we are making lifestyle changes, because these eating habits are going to be permanent changes not just quick fixes to get immediate results. We want permanent results, right?depression, hypothyroidism, fitness
So, many factors effect the number on the scale that make it a poor way to judge how well your weight loss and fitness program is working.
For example:
  • Did you drink a large amount of water before bedtime?
  • Are you constipated?
  • Did you eat a large amount of salt/sodium yesterday?
  • Are you weighing at the same time everyday?
  • Are you wearing the same clothes?
  • Are you doing a fitness program that is geared towards building muscle? (Muscle weighs more than fat, so you may be losing fat but gaining muscle, which keeps the number on the scale from changing).
All these things make using the scale a bad way of judging your weight loss success. Instead, try using some of the things listed above to measure your success. The whole point of losing weight and getting fit is so you feel better and can live a healthy, active and independent life until the day you die. Yes, you want to look good too and you will when these non-scale victories are accomplished. With these victories your confidence will grow and the way you present yourself and treat your appearance will change too and that my friend is beautiful.

If you're struggling to lose weight and get fit or you just want to get healthy then let me tell you all the ways that I can help. Fill out this application and I'll get back with you ASAP. Losing weight can be a struggle, but you don't have to do it alone. I'm here to help. What are you waiting for?

22 Minute Hard Corps Summer Strong Challenge Group

Shakeology, weight loss, working out at home, over fifty, women's health

22 MINUTE HARD CORPS SUMMER STRONG CHALLENGE GROUP

It's hump day!!! It's also week one of my  22 MHC Summer Strong Challenge group and man I must admit I've been struggling the past couple of days. I had already completed the 8 weeks of 22 MHC plus Hell Week, but I loved it so much I decided to do a 4 week challenge group, so others could see how awesome the program is too. My diet and workouts were on spot then along comes Nurse's week and everything went to crap. A co-worker's wife cooked up a huge spaghetti meal and 2 retired nurses brought in all kinds of goodies, so for 4 nights straight we did nothing but eat and eat junk at that.

The sugar overload has caused me to struggle during my workouts I can really feel the difference. But today I feel awesome, so hopefully all the crap is out of my system and I can get back on track to losing the weight! I'm so excited to help these ladies in my challenge group find their path to success and they all seem so fired up and ready to KILL IT!!! Eating the right foods in the right combination and the right portions is the key to success. I know, I know it sounds complicated, but Autumn Calabrese (creator of the 21 Day Fix) figured it all out for us and with her simple to follow portion fix meal plan you can't go wrong, as long as you follow the meal plan ;)

I tell my challengers to take Sundays and plan out their meals for the week. Then go shopping for the foods they'll need. Next come home and prep those veggies, wash 'em, cut them up, measure them out into easy to grab containers, so when you're in a hurry you won't have any excuses not to eat healthy. Make some dishes up a head of time and freeze them, for the same reason I just mentioned. Success is in the planning and if you don't have a plan then you're planning to fail.

HERE'S A COPY OF MY MEAL PLAN FOR THE WEEK. I FALL UNDER PLAN 3 (1,800-2,099 calories) WEEKLY RATIONS PLAN 3
meal planning, shakeology, foodie, yummy, healthy eating

Definitely plenty of food, but that doesn't mean I won't be "Jones-ing" for junk food, right? Portion Fix is a Clean Eating Meal Plan, which means no processed foods, sugar, or fatty foods-basically everything I've been eating for years-Helluar Food Addict Here (checkout my blog Why Am I Hungry Again?! )!! So, if you're like me then you'll be going through a few days of detox just like any other addict who gives up their vice. But after about the 3rd or 4th day you should be through the withdrawal and with the help of Shakeology you'll start to feel a whole lot better. Shakeology has been a game changer for me and my weight loss it is what got me to my goal weight last time (I lost 175 lbs, I was literally half the person I use to be, cray cray, right?). I hate vegetables and it takes care of that for me-YEAH!
22 minute hard corps, weight loss, fitness, hypothyroidism
My accountability pic for the day!!

Eating right is only part of the equation the other part is your fitness a.k.a. working out. This is the part that a lot of people dread and they can find the most excuses for not doing. I personally have always enjoyed working out, so I look forward to my workouts they are actually therapeutic for me. Checkout  the Mental Health Benefits of Working Out . Since I have a specific goal in mind, To look awesome by Summit July 28th, & I've already done one round of 22MHC I've decided to do a Hybrid of my own design with The Master's Chisel program to help me develop more lean muscle, change the landscape of my body, and get better definition.

When it comes to your workouts you have to schedule them on your calendar just like you do any other appointment, because they are just as important, if not more important. **The workouts don't have to be at the same time everyday, but they do need to be scheduled at a specific time everyday.**

Here's my workout schedule for the week:
(I know it looks like I'm resting at the beginning of the week, but I work 12 hour nightshift weekends, so Mondays are the end of my week ;)

Monday: REST
Tuesday: Chisel Endurance 9:00 am/ Resistance 1  6:00 pm
Wednesday: Iso Strength Chisel 9:00 am/Cardio 1 6:00 pm
